I was thinking about this blog and it seems that recently most of the posts have been pretty heavy. So instead of giving you my point of view on a subject I thought I would give a little update on me today.
Last week I went to the ENT doctor and he identified a cyst that I had on my left ear. In the same visit he also diagnosed a tonsil tag on my right tonsil. A tonsil tag is just a growth or some extra tissue coming from the tonsil. It isn't painful or infected or anything, but after my doctor saw it I could definitely feel it. The cyst has been bugging me for a while. I actually went in a couple months ago and had it drained. That helped for a while but it continued to bother me. So he decided he would go ahead and dig it out since my job requires me to use double hearing protection all the time and to make sure it wouldn't interfere with daily life and all that.
So this morning I had minor surgery in two locations. The cyst he took out first. Numbed up the side of my head pretty good, made a small incision and went to town. It was about the side of a b-b. He also went in and cut off the tonsil tag that was hanging from my right tonsil. He gave me some Vicodin for the pain so I have been hopped up on that all day. Man, that stuff... whooo... my whole body gets numb.
I was looking for pictures on the web and almost got sick looking at them, so I decided not to share what a cyst and a tonsil tag look like. So I am on quarters right now and for tomorrow and I will be off the flight line for a week as my ear heals. Anywho, decided I would give the world an update that wasn't so passionately preachy.
Love you all,
Mark
