Since Aurora has gotten her braces (which are working very well!) Jade got out the journal that she wrote during the first few months of Aurora's life. Jade read through it and suggested that I do the same. I said, "Sure, I'll get around to it," and put it in the back of my male brain. It has been sitting on the table for a few weeks now and I finally decided to give it a read. I only read a few days and started to tear up. I thought it might be valuable for others to hear her story as well, so I am going to post the journal a few days at a time.
Keep in mind - this was Jade writing the journal while she was staying in Sacramento alone.

I got to change Aurora's diaper! They took off her eye cover and she looked at me when I talked to her. She had a brain scan today, but it takes 24 hrs. for review. Her heart scan showed maybe a tiny hole that could only be picked up electronically. They may begin endocine tomorrow. Otherwise her heart is fine and pumping normally. They changed her respirator to high frequency. Instead of a steady pace like before, it vibrates her lungs at like 400 per min. It has improved her O2 and CO2 levels greatly.

Sonogram came back negative - No bleeding! Started 1st dose of endocine. Very faint heart murmur. Has an IV in her hand for endocine/antibiotics. Plastic wrap will come off in about 1 week. Tried feeding her yesterday, but she didn't take it well. Will try in a day or two. Can see her breathing over the respirator. Sucks on her fingers. Antibiotics end today.
