Jade didn't mention this in her medical journal but it is an important part of our story: On 20 March Jade was able to hold Aurora for the first time. That day also happens to be her birthday, so she was a very happy mommy on that day.

She went on nasal CPAP yesterday! She's still eating 12cc's, but its fortified to be 24 calories instead of only 20 calories. All she needs to do now is grow. She still has the chronic lung problem and as she grows they'll know more about long term effects.

She'll be on antibiotics 7 more days. Then they can increase her feeds and take her IV out. She weighs 1 lb. 11 oz. and is 13.5".

She gained 15 grams last night - 1 lb. 12.8 oz. She's starting on a multi-vitamin once a day. She's having episodes of apnea.
28 March 2000
She's getting blood today. Her sodium is low. She might not have the ability to produce a hormone to deal with stress, so they're going to give her that and salt. Her lungs are hazier than usual and the pressure on the machine is up. They're not sure exactly what's wrong so they're covering all areas. They're also giving her another type of steroids.
