I am continuing (I need to find a new word) with Jade's journal of what was going on with Aurora after she was born. Something to keep in mind as you read these entries: Jade wrote these things down in the broken sentences and factual way simply because she wanted to keep me posted on how things were going with our new daughter. Even though it isn't said in this journal... there is a lot more context to this story, more emotion, more pain, sorrow, elation, depression, joy, and all of that happening than these pages have room for.

She's on a new ventilator! She's off the light! She has all the lines out of her tummy, but she has a line in each leg. She's eating more - 4cc's every 4 hours.
13 March 2000
She's up on her feeding - 4cc's every 3 hours. Otherwise, she's stable. She weighs 705 grams today. Not quite her birth weight. [740 grams]
14 March 2000
Comes off pain medicine today. Last dose of antibiotics tomorrow. Up on feeding again. 5cc's every 3 hours.
16 March 2000
Yesterday was a little shaky. Her saturation (oxygen) levels were up and down. Today she's doing much better. She's coming off the TPN (extra calories, protein). She's up to 9cc's every 3 hours. The line is out of her right leg. [Giving her] 30% oxygen today.
17 March 2000
We're up to 12cc's of milk! She got the other line out of her leg, so she only has the long term line in her elbow. If she does good this weekend they're going to put her on the next ventilator. :)
